An honest assessment

Repair or replace? We’ll tell you straight.

Not every tired wall needs a full replacement. Sometimes a repair and a paint job buys you years. Sometimes the damage runs deeper than the surface and patching it wastes money. We look first, then recommend.

When replacement is the right call, it’s also the right moment to fix what’s underneath: house wrap, flashing, and trim details that decide whether the new siding lasts.

Signs it’s time

  • Cracking, warping, or buckling panels
  • Fading that paint will not fix anymore
  • Moisture or soft spots near the bottom edges
  • Hail or wind damage from the last storm
  • Energy bills creeping up year over year

Sun, wind, and 40-degree swings

Materials for a high-desert climate

The Grand Valley is hard on siding: intense sun, dry air, wind, and big temperature swings between morning and afternoon. Materials that work fine on the Front Range can age fast here.

Fiber cement, engineered wood, and quality vinyl each have a case, and the right answer depends on your house and budget. We’ll lay out the tradeoffs in plain terms: cost now, maintenance later, and how each one handles the sun exposure on your walls.

Common questions

Should I repair or replace my siding?

If the damage is local and the rest of the wall is sound, repair. If moisture has gotten behind it or the material itself is failing, replacement saves money over a string of patches. We will tell you which situation you have after we look.

Will new siding lower my utility bills?

Often the bigger win is the house wrap and any insulation work that happens during replacement. We will tell you what your house would actually gain rather than promising a number.

How long does siding replacement take?

For most homes, somewhere between several days and a couple of weeks, depending on size and what we find under the old siding. You get a schedule with the quote.
